Hryhorii Holopapa
Dr. Hryhorii Holopapa provides anaesthetic support during dental treatment and monitors the patient’s condition at every stage—from the initial health assessment to full recovery afterwards.
He helps make lengthy, complex, or psychologically challenging dental treatment more comfortable by providing treatment under sedation. During the procedure, he continuously monitors the patient’s vital signs and ensures their safety.
Main Areas of Practice
- anaesthetic support during dental treatment;
- administration of sedation;
- support during lengthy and complex dental procedures;
- anaesthetic support for surgical treatment and dental implant placement;
- assistance during tooth extraction, including the removal of several teeth in one visit;
- monitoring the patient’s condition throughout the procedure;
- observation until full recovery following sedation.
When Treatment Under Sedation May Be Recommended
Anaesthetic support may be recommended if:
- the patient experiences severe anxiety about dental treatment;
- a lengthy or extensive procedure is planned;
- several procedures need to be completed in one visit;
- the patient finds it difficult to remain in the dental chair for an extended period;
- the patient has a pronounced gag reflex;
- complex surgical treatment is required;
- the clinic’s dentists recommend carrying out the procedure under sedation.
The final decision regarding the suitability of sedation is made after assessing the patient’s health and any potential contraindications.
Approach to Safety
Before the procedure, Dr. Holopapa reviews the patient’s medical history and asks about chronic conditions, allergic reactions, previous surgeries, and any medication taken on a regular basis.
When necessary, he determines which tests and additional examinations are required.
During treatment, the anaesthesiologist monitors:
- breathing;
- heart rate;
- blood pressure;
- blood oxygen saturation;
- the depth of sedation;
- the patient’s overall condition.
After dental treatment is completed, the doctor continues to monitor the patient until they are fully awake and their condition is stable.
How Anaesthetic Support Is Provided
Before the procedure, the patient receives clear preparation instructions concerning food and drink, regular medications, and post-treatment care.
Dr. Holopapa explains how sedation will be administered, what sensations may occur after waking, and which recommendations should be followed after returning home.
The anaesthesiologist remains with the patient throughout the entire procedure and does not participate in the dental treatment itself. His sole responsibility is to monitor the patient’s condition and ensure their safety.
