Total reconstruction in case of pathological abrasion
- The patient complained of chronic fatigue of the masticatory muscles, pain in the temporomandibular joints, severe abrasion of the crown parts of the teeth, soreness of the mouth and a visually noticeable decrease in the lower third of the face.
- After clinical and functional analysis, pathological abrasion of the teeth with a violation of the occlusal height was diagnosed.
- As part of the rehabilitation, a decision was made to perform total reconstruction of the occlusion using ceramic restorations.
- The following was performed: • determination of the central ratio of the jaws; • establishment of an individual interocclusal height; • staged prosthetics with ceramic restorations (veneers, crowns).
- As a result of the treatment, the following was achieved: • elimination of pain syndrome and soreness of the mouth; • restoration of facial aesthetics and physiological bite height; • normalization of chewing function.
- The patient noted a significant improvement in her well-being, appearance and quality of life.
