Implantological rehabilitation of a patient with complicated caries caused by improper prosthetics

  1. A few years ago, a patient living in Estonia came to us with a wish to get new crowns supported by implants. Metal-ceramic crowns were fixed for her 14 years ago. There were 28 crowns in her mouth. The X-rays showed that most of the teeth were destroyed, there were periapical problems and foci of periodontitis.
  1. A common decision was made to remove all the teeth and install implants on both jaws with immediate loading with temporary reinforced composite crowns. Four implants were installed on the upper jaw using the "All-on-4" protocol, and eight implants were installed on the lower jaw at the patient's request (the patient teaches vocals, and when she opens her mouth wide, the lower teeth are clearly visible, so one of the requirements was to make a full row of teeth consisting of 14 crowns).
  1. Within a week after implantation, temporary crowns were fixed to the implants for a period of 4 months. After this time, we replaced the temporary crowns with zirconium ones supported by implants.
  1. The patient was completely satisfied with the result, and follow-up examinations show a stable situation in the oral cavity.
